Work Experience

Digital journalism experience: snap it up now!

Wannabe journos are always on the lookout for publications, websites and companies offering them that vital experience they need for their CV. So if that sounds familiar and you’re keen to go digital, snap up this work experience with Eva Caiden at Movellas:

The company: Movellas is a start up partially funded by NESTA, a government pot of money that puts cash into online projects with a positive impact. Movellas is a community site aimed at teens who love to read and write. It’s in an exciting new period of growth and development and there are big plans.

The role: You will get so much digital experience here it will make you cry (happy tears). The UK team is small so there’s lots to do. You’ll be: generating content, managing social media, getting involved in product development, engaging and managing the community, arranging and judging competitions and tons more. All of this is invaluable experience for any social media/digital roles you may be going for in the future. Plus I have lots of contacts that I can put the right person in touch with.

The location: We are based in awesome offices in St Katherine’s Docks, Tower Hill. On one side, we’re overlooking the water, on the other, Tower Bridge. It’s in a building with loads of other start ups (good chance to network) and there’s even that old start-up cliche: a ping pong table.

Dates: I’m looking for happy, enthusiastic people who can commit for 2-4 weeks. We pay travel and lunch (you won’t starve – always nice!). There are also opportunities for you to work one day a week in the office if you’re London based.

If you’re interested, do drop me a line on eva@movellas.com with your CV and a little bit about yourself.
